A renowned health care practitioner and professor of Medicine, Olufemi Elegbeleye is dead.
According to a statement by his family, Elegbeleye died at the age of 74 on August 25, 2016 at the Princess Royal University Hospital, Farnborough, London, during a brief illness.
Elegbeleye graduated from the University of Lagos in 1968, where he bagged a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) honours.
A former Registrar of Lagos University Teaching Hospital, he was also a member of the Nigerian Medical Association, the Association of Physicians of Nigeria and the Nigerian Thoracic Society.
He is survived by his wife, four children and grandchildren.
“Funeral arrangement will be communicated in due course,” the statement added.
